Terms of Service

These terms govern how you may use ECON Galaxy (econgalaxy.com) and which rules apply in the game. By registering you accept them.

This is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version at econgalaxy.com/nutzungsbedingungen is legally binding.

The service

ECON Galaxy is a free strategy browser game. We keep developing it and do our best to run it reliably. There is no claim that the game is available at all times or offered permanently. Maintenance, outages and updates may interrupt the game from time to time.

Your account

  • Each person may have only one account.
  • Your account belongs to you alone. You may not share, pass on, sell or buy it.
  • Keep your login details secret. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account.
  • Commander and empire names must not be offensive, discriminatory, sexually explicit or extremist. They must not impersonate other people, players or the ECON Galaxy team, and must not infringe the rights of others.

Fair play

ECON Galaxy should stay fair for everyone. The following is not allowed:

  • Bots, scripts, macros and any other automation of the game.
  • Exploiting bugs in the game. If you find a bug, please report it through the feedback form or by e-mail.
  • More than one account per person (multi-accounting).
  • Moving resources, ships or other advantages between your own accounts or to accounts created for that purpose (pushing).
  • Attacks on the servers or attempts to gain unauthorized access to data or accounts.

Conduct in messages and on Discord

Treat other players with respect. Insults, threats, harassment, discrimination, spam, advertising and unlawful content are forbidden in messages in the game, in alliances and on our Discord server. The server rules also apply on Discord.

Sanctions

If you break these terms, depending on how serious it is we may:

  • warn you,
  • suspend your account temporarily,
  • suspend or delete your account permanently,
  • change or remove unsuitable commander, empire or alliance names,
  • reset advantages gained by breaking the rules.

Virtual items

Resources, ships, buildings, planets, points and all other content in the game are virtual. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money and do not belong to you. There is no claim to keep them.

Changes to the game

We may change game rules, values, content and features to improve the game or keep it balanced. This may also change the value of your progress in the game. A reset of single game worlds or of the whole game is possible. We announce such a reset in advance.

Ending the use

You can delete your account at any time under Settings > Profile. We may suspend or delete your account immediately for serious or repeated violations. Without a violation we may end the use with two weeks' notice, for example if we shut down the game.

Liability

ECON Galaxy is free of charge. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential obligations and only for the typical, foreseeable damage. Beyond that, liability is excluded as far as the law allows. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when new features are added or the legal situation changes. We announce changes at least two weeks in advance in the game or by e-mail. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before they take effect.

Applicable law

German law applies. If you are a consumer with your habitual residence in another member state of the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that state remain unaffected.
